Village of Lawton DDA - Lawton, Michigan
Developed preliminary streetscape design to create a more pedestrian friendly Village center. Revise traffic lanes to create left turn lane; incorporate pedestrian scale street lighting, trees, planters and better define crosswalk areas. The “Master Plan” will be used to increase interest and awareness of what the Village Main Street could be.

Franklin-Wright Settlements - Detroit, Michigan
Community revitalization through the University of Michigan and the University of Detroit-Mercy. Working closely with the community organization members and professional mentors, the team developed a neighborhood plan, which targeted the specific needs for the southeast area of Detroit.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Medical Facilities, Family Health Center of Battle Creek, Battle Creek, MI
A 28,000 addition to an existing 39,000 sq. ft. medical facility. The existing two story structure was renovated to accommodate additional exam rooms and expanded administration. The three story addition (two story plus basement) included exam rooms, administration, an expanded dental suite and a large meeting room for staff, corporate and community conferences.

Family Health Center North, Kalamazoo, MI
The existing 14,000 sq. ft. medical facility was expanded with an 11,000 sq. ft. addition. The addition houses two new medical service areas and expanded mechanical and facility areas. The renovated portion provides expanded administration, pharmacy and medical areas. The new facility layout improves patient flow and circulation throughout the building.

Department of Veterans Affairs, Ann Arbor Health Care Center, Ann Arbor, MI
Dental Suite Renovation 2006 - Partial demolition, renovation and expansion of the existing dental area. The 5,800 s.f. project area included new and renovated operatories, x-ray, dental instrument processing, office space and lab updates. The existing central air conditioning for this area was replaced. The renovation was completed in phases to keep the dental facility operational during construction.

Ambulatory Care 2004
The build out of a 2,126 s.f. existing open hospital space to create a suite of ambulatory exam rooms, doctor’s office and miscellaneous support areas. Design services included architectural, mechanical and electrical services. The design also included a new air handling unit to service the space.

Department of Veterans Affairs, Battle Creek, MI
Commercial Facilities

Central Michigan University Academic Center, Beaver Island, MI
A 12,000 sq. ft. renovation/ addition of the existing biological station. The design incorporated a 100 occupant lecture hall, computer lab, library and other support areas. The project was designed to meet the criteria for Silver LEEDs Certification utilizing natural daylight, geothermal heating and cooling and earth berming.

Todaro Leadership Center, Wolftorboro, NH
Year-round youth camp facility on Lake Winnepasaukee. The purpose of the center was to provide adult and teen leadership training, as well as a conferencing venue. The original barn (demolished in a windstorm) and the still standing 1840’s farmhouse is a prime example of a self contained New Hampshire farm development with interconnecting structures. The renovation took the history of the site into account during the design process.

Luella Collins Community Center - Shelbyville, MI
The process began with an on-site workshop with the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians. Their primary goal was to have a large gathering place for the entire tribal community. The design of the structure and the interior finishes reflect their tribal heritage.

Automotive Retail Roll-out
Developed documentation for “Facility Report” for distribution to participating dealers based on automakers design standards, describing the existing conditions and the scope of required design elements to be incorporated within the facility; along with photographic before and enhanced after images. Further developed the conceptual plans into schematic level CAD drawings and additional information regarding specific design elements.

Master Planning
Tillers’ International, Kalamazoo, MI
Developed master plan for their newly acquired property, focusing on the development of “villages” that represent time periods of agricultural development. The process led to the further development of a new educational museum and laboratory for the organization.

City of Auburn Hills Master Plan and Implementation Program, MI
Working as part of an extensive design team, consisting of architects, planners and an economic analyst; developed a Master Plan concept for the redevelopment of the existing “Village Center” (2 acre site). The design process involved input from City officials, as well as the general public. Responsible for the concept, design development, construction documentations and construction administration for the first phase of the Implementation Program.

YMCA Master Planning
YMCA Youth Campgrounds, various locations

Developed preliminary concepts for an overall land plan for the future development of the camp based on concepts and ideas generated by YMCA camp stakeholders, staff and the design team during a one or two day charrette (workshop) process. A summary booklet, final master plan and preliminary budget estimates were completed for each camp.
